EASTGATE FEATURED FOR WSOP 2011

Peter Eastgate was featured as the former world champion for the WSOP 2011, which will begin shortly. There's just one problem: He might not play.

”The way it looks now," Eastgate told PokerListings, "I am probably not playing the WSOP Main Event.”

Luckily there are plenty of other excellent Danish players to pick up after Eastgate.

In 2010 two Danish players went very deep in the Main Event.

Most of the focus was on Theo ”The Silverfox” Jørgensen, who had the chiplead for a long stretch only to bust before it got really exciting.

EASTGATE RETURNS

Peter Eastgate has returned to poker after a brief absence from the game. Taking the World Series of Poker Main Event back in 2008, the Danish 25 year old star became the youngest player to land the title before being succeeded by John Cada in 2009. Eight-time WSOP bracelet holder Erik Seidel took Peter Eastgate to school in their matchup. Eastgate lost pots of $30,000 and $40,000 to be down 10-1 in chips. On the final hand Eastgate committed his stack with Q-7; Seidel held K-6 of diamonds. The board came 7-10-5-K-5, giving Seidel a pair of kings and a trip to the final four.
